my outfit: long weekend!

I hope you had a fabulous long weekend celebrating Thanksgiving and the kick off of the Christmas season.  Our weekend was complete with a lot of driving to see family, a lot of lounging, Christmas tree hunting, online shopping, Christmas tree decorating, eating and more eating, driving each other crazy, being extremely thankful for our very full and blessed life, Christmas music, dance parties, family outings, Elf on the Shelf doting (my daughter is obsessed with our elf), messing up the house and reading.  Really the whole gamut that a long weekend can provide!  This morning I was happy to ship off the rest of the family to school and work and take a deep long breath before the next round of craziness!

Last Wednesday the kids were off school so we went to FMG to check out the spectacular Christmas trees from around the world and the holiday train set up.  Both did not disappoint!  Plus by some stroke of luck we nearly had the whole place to ourselves.  If you are ever in the West Michigan area... you really should stop by our amazing botanical gardens.  They are so stunning inside and out and all year long.  These photos we snapped quick in the conservatory.  A little slice of the tropics right here in Michigan... and the only place that a fair isle sweater is appropriate in 90% humidity!

(excuse the quality of photos... they are iPhone snaps!)
